Vomitting your Breakfast and other wonderful stuff

We just discovered a few days ago that I’m preggers. My period was delayed for some time and I decided to get some cheapo home preggy kit from the pharmacy. Wasn’t planning to use it because i was certain that the telltale spotting will eventually occur and it will be business as usual. Boobs were also occasionally sore and painful, which is consistent with pre-menses symptoms.

Everything was hunkadory, UNTIL I start feeling nausea. Hubs was looking at me strange and kept asking me in a choked voice if I’m pregnant, and I kept brushing it off as gastric or something. Everything I ate and drink was bloating me up to no end, and it felt really really uncomfortable. So what the hell that day I just grabbed the preggo kit and used it. And holy moly, it’s a bright red POSITIVE.

It was so funny. I showed Hubs and he stared at the manual to the kit for about like 15 minutes, going over and over again which is what. Someone couldn’t believe his eyes. Then he dropped his arms and looked at me with wide saucer eyes and went “OH MY GAWDDDDDDD”. Poor guy. Ahaks!

That evening we went directly to a GP to get it confirmed. The same POSITIVE. The day after we went to the gynae at Tmn Desa Medical Centre and she confirmed it on the screen. She pointed out the white throbbing tauge seed on the screen is the kid. I was seized by an inappropriate urge to point and laugh. It was so funny. Ollie, our guinea pig could flatten that thing.

Regardless, our kid is now 6 weeks. Morning sickness (which occurs for the whole day BTW) and fatigue occur normally after 1 month, which is pretty consistent in me. Hopefully all this gagging and dozing on the job will go off after the 3rd month. I heard by then the unearthly hunger (I-wanna-eat-a-horse!) starts and I will keep gorging myself mindlessly under its influence. Ah JOY!

I want to thank the Lord for giving me this wonderful gift. It was something that we did not expect but was lavished upon us generously. Man, I do love my Heavenly Dad.
