Uwek!

I'm experiencing slight nausea. It's like the Kampar Fishball Noodles I consumed for lunch is trying to push itself out. Must stop gorging myself and learn to stop when my stomach tells me I'm full. Also, I contributed to Uncle Ho by faithfully buying 2 new dvds from a sickly-looking guy with orange hair. Bought Fighter in the Wind and The Woodsman.

Initially, I saw Fighter in the Wind in a DVD shop when they were showing it to a group of Ah Bengs and Ah Lians (including me lah) in a shopping mall. Drew a pretty big crowd it did, with it's realistically brutal+gray/black Matrix-like handcombat scenes. Being the loyal devotee of martialart movies that I am, I started to salivate. As in, really started to drool. My saliva glands flowed. (FYI, this happens when I'm turned on, be it by violence, eroticism, or a heart-shaking story plot)

I feel smug, because now I have a movie that Shin doesn't have. I can trade this for Casshern and Princess Blade (which I stupidly missed when being shown on NTV7). I'd do anything to watch Princess Blade with all its badass samurai sword action. No, Princess Blade is not Kill Bill. Think Takehiko Inoue's Vagabond. Before you say that it's pretty stupid to try to compare a movie with a manga, let me reveal that that's my point exactly. No comparison at all, friend. Kill Bill sucks monkeys (in my very very humble opinion).

Anyway, I bought The Woodsman because it stars Kevin Bacon, who is said to have delivered his finest performance in this movie. (also got Benjamin Bratt argh you sexy man!!!) The movie's about a sex offender released from a 12yr sentence, who tries to return to a very unforgiving society. He struggles for a job and is hounded by neurotic lawmen (shades of Jean Valjean??), while battling his inner demons and violent urges. Sound like a winner, doesn't it? Mhmm, very Mystic River. Anyone watched Sleepers? Kevin Bacon's always an exceptional actor, despite poor career moves with movies like Wild Things.

(though some guys i know thoroughly "enjoyed" that movie...)
(which was generously sprinkled with Denise Richard's mammaries..)
(not to mention that hawt threesome scene...)

So, I'm having some pretty high hopes on The Woodsman.

Oh I feel so good right now. Nausea's gone. Back to work.

Oooooh! Figther in the Wind. Is this the Korean Movie about this Korean Legend who defeated all the martial arts schools in Japan? This movie is soooo cool. It's like watching a Live Anime! Though it's the first time I've seen a not so good looking hero. His leading lady is so beautiful. Korean flicks are a hit nowadays here in the Philippines. ^_^
