ROMB's like...a slow trudging old elephant

An old friend asked me if I really wanted to continue with ROMB. He said that it's ok to go on with shorter creative projects.

I know what he meant about wanting to start on something shorter. But I'm not THAT sure if I want to stop ROMB where it is. Sure I'm kinda tired with revisiting old plots and trying to meet ppl's expectations, but ROMB's like the melting pot of everything that I'm passionate about... gaming, martial arts, people, etc. If I drop this now, I'm not sure I can create something which allows me to live so... spherically satisfyingly through my stories.

You know what I mean?

Oh well, I'll stick with it for a few months and I'll see if ROMB can still give me the Joy.
But hell, having to do this with a site revamp ain't helping at all. T_T

Awww... I'm not sure what to say. I've been rereading the archives to catch up on the story, and fallen in love with the story again. :3 So I'm happy to see it continue.

I just hope continuing ROMB makes you happy, too, although it sounds like it does. I look forwards to seeing more of the comic!

I guess it's not something you should be forced into doing? You can always revamp things to your heart's content or do it a page at a time when the mood strikes, I guess? *Hopeful.*

Hi Ju. I do know exactly what you mean. I have been given a similar advice where maybe I should just work on a shorter project. I liked the idea but I never did get anything started. I kept looking back at my old series Lovarian Adventures. One day walking at the mall, I decided that mabye it's time to actually end the series and stop giving the loyal readers hope that it would actually get updated again.

But, I didn't want to leave the loyal readers hanging. I thought that the least I could give them was a conclusion. I already know how most of the story is going to play out anyway. I just didn't have the passion to draw them into actual comic pages. So, as an alternative, I planned to just tell the story in textual form. Kinda like when I have to retell a TV series episode a friend of mine missed the other night. It wouldn't be award-winning novela writing but at least the readers who are interested to know how the story should've progressed and ended would know. As a bonus, I planned to draw/paint the highlights of the story. Turning it into a sort of children's picture book.

So, while preparing to do just that, I had to re-read my old notes and scripts for the series. Then, I suddenly want to draw the stupid series again as comic pages. I had to re-examine why I was drawing the comic in the first place. I wanted to tell an interesting story. So, I restarted drawing LA again.

My original website for LA was in ruin so I had to redesign it. But, I didn't want to be bothered to much by site design anymore. I just want to concentrate on the comics. So, I decided to just move the whole thing to DrunkDuck. It has a basic system of navigating through the comics all set up and ready to use.

Although if you look at my site now, I've managed to restore some of the design elements of the older site onto the Drunk Duck template. But it wasn't my focus this time.

Anyway, this is a long comment already. I wish you all the luck in trying to get back to drawing ROMB again. I hope you do. But if not, you can always try my picture book idea. Then, who knows, maybe after doing a few pages of that, you'd have regained the passion to draw actual comic pages again.

See ya around. :)
